Artist and facilitator

This is me mudlarking on the banks of the river Ryburn, just minutes from where I live. I still remember the thrill of my first river find; it was part of a figurine, the sculpted hand holding a bottle. From that moment on, I was completely hooked.

To me, every object I uncover is a tangible piece of the past. I’ve made it part of my creative practice to research and curate the finds and have compiled the information into several small handmade books. The books and river finds have been exhibited locally, and for several years my focus has been on sharing the stories they hold. It’s important to me that the found pieces are exhibited in the community where they were once part of everyday life; the same place they were discovered.
